  • Crazy Russian Divorce: You Can Have Your Pumpkin Pie & Eat It Too!

Divorces may be caused by a wide variety of complicated reasons, but pumpkin pie? Yes, you heard right. A Russian man has decided to divorce his wife of 18 years after learning that she had been feeding him pie containing pumpkin for six months; leaving serious doubts about this guy being a fan of Halloween!

47-year-old Ivan Dimitrov was as crushed as…well…a smashed pumpkin…when he learned that his wife Irena had been feeding him pie containing hated pumpkin instead of beloved courgettes (also known as Zucchini). Dimitrov came to the “grisly” discovery when he found pumpkin rinds in a garbage bin. According to the story on the Ananova website, Dimitrov immediately hired a divorce lawyer to arrange a quick divorce from his 38-year-old wife.

Dimitrov was quoted as saying that his wife knew how much he hated pumpkin and yet fed him this type of pie for six months because it was cheap. He then wondered that if she could lie to him about the pumpkin pie, what else could she have been lying about during the marriage? He concluded his wild reason for his Russian divorce by saying that he could no longer trust his wife. Yikes!
