After spending the last month in rehab, Britney Spears has reportedly agreed to pay $19 million to her ex-husband and wannabe rapper Kevin Federline in their divorce settlement. The $19 million Britney Spears divorce settlement is allegedly comprised of a $2 million lump sum plus 50 percent of her earnings during the couple’s marriage and half of their Malibu, California home. The couple has also agreed to share custody of the couple’s two children, 18-month old Sean Preston and six-month Jayden James.

A source in a story in the British tabloid The Sun said that the discord between the couple dissipated when Spears went into Promises, a Malibu alcohol and drug rehab center, on February 20th. The couple and their divorce lawyers allegedly hammered out the divorce agreement last weekend at the rehab facility. Spears left Promises on Tuesday.

Spears and Federline, a former backup dancer, were married in 2004. It was the 25-year-old Spears’ second marriage. Spears cited irreconcilable differences when filing for divorce in early November of last year. Spears has sold more than 31 million albums in the United States and is the eighth best-selling female artist in American music history, according to the website RIAA.com.

Federline hasn’t achieved such success in his much shorter and ridiculed career. His 2006 debut album Playing with Fire received terrible reviews and has achieved little sales (what a shocker). Capitalizing off his often-mocked image, Federline even appeared in a Super Bowl XLI commercial in which he made fun of his “solo career” and foreshadowed his future: flipping burgers at a fast-food chain. With $19 million reportedly coming his way, even Federline should be able to avoid that fate.
