Child custody disputes during and after divorces can be tough on all parties involved, especially children. While the stress from these situations may be further complicated when in the celebrity spotlight, it still does not excuse the recent actions of Alec Baldwin, a star on NBC’s 30 Rock. Celebrity news site TMZ.com recently released a voicemail that an angry Baldwin left for his 11-year-old daughter Ireland earlier this month after she apparently missed a planned phone conversation with him. The voicemail message includes Baldwin calling his daughter “a rude, thoughtless little pig.” Baldwin and Ireland’s mother, actress Kim Basinger, have been involved in a bitter custody dispute since their 2002 divorce.

Baldwin’s voicemail message also includes threats that he’s going to “straighten out” his daughter during their next visit for allegedly missing this and other planned phone calls. Adding further embarrassment to his obnoxiousness, Baldwin screws up his daughter’s age several times.

TMZ.com has reported that the judge residing over the couple’s bitter custody dispute temporarily suspended Baldwin’s visitation rights on Wednesday after listening to the phone message. A spokesman for Baldwin said that the actor “should have used different language in parenting his child” and also alleged that Basinger and her divorce lawyer leaked the recording “in violation of a court order.” A Basinger spokesman declined further comment beyond saying that “the voicemail speaks for itself.”
