‘Life’s Short. Get a Divorce.’ Billboard Taking it to Streets of Chicago!
After causing quite a stir last month with its to-the-point messaging and suggestive imagery of a scantily-clad woman and buffed-out man, a racy Chicago divorce billboard is literally taking it to the streets in the city. A story in today’s Sun-Times has detailed that Chicago divorce lawyer Corri Fetman, the brainchild behind the billboard that captured national headlines, will now put this advertising for her law firm on the sides of trucks. The new advertising will feature less revealing images as compared to the original billboard, but the messaging will be the same. Fetman had originally put the billboard on the side of a building located in a part of the trendy “Gold Coast” neighborhood known as the “Viagra Triangle,” but the city later removed it for an alleged improper permit.
This racy Chicago divorce billboard caused quite a stir to say the least, as many people claimed that it glamorized divorce and trivialized marriage at the expense of having a good time. An Arlington Heights couple responded with a billboard of their own. The retort? “Life’s short. Your marriage doesn’t have to be.”
Fetman laughed off the hysteria over the divorce billboard at the time and certainly achieved the goal of bringing attention to her divorce law firm. Now here’s hoping her trucks don’t get caught behind any ice-cream trucks during the summer gridlock in Chicago!
