  • 7/7/07 Most Popular Wedding Day in History

Time Magazine reports that July 7, 2007 was the most popular day for weddings in history. Many people believe seven is a lucky number, triple seven really lucky. Newly married couples hope 7/7/07 will make them lucky in love.

While it usually takes six to twelve months to plan a wedding, inquires for weddings on July 7 started way back in 2005. Time says that the average number of weddings registered on the website The Knot for any Saturday in July is about 12,000, but for 7/7/07 the number tripled to 38,000.

Henry Singleton and Angelina Santiago got their dream wedding date by accident. They had planned their wedding for July21, the third anniversary of their first date, but their wedding site was double booked and the vendor offered them July 7th instead. Now, they’ve gone seven nuts. They’ll have seven bridesmaid and seven groomsmen and the reception starts at 7pm.

Let’s hope, for the couples’ sakes, that triple seven is as lucky as they think and they don’t end up filing for divorce.
