  • Child Support Days Considered a Success

The Child Support Enforcement Agency helped 984 people get their lives “back on track” and do the right thing for their children with Child Support Days last Friday and Saturday. From 9 am to 3 pm the support agency, prosecutors, sheriff’s office and judges met at a church to help parents.

People showed up at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Akron, Ohio to make child support payments and set up payment plans in order to get their driver’s licenses back and clear up warrants. The church was picked because people felt it was less threatening than a courtroom.

A total of $25,314 was made to lift support-related license suspensions. According to Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh, the largest payment made was $2,492 on a credit card.
