Child Support Sting Operations Popular During Child Support Awareness Month
According to WRDW Channel 12 in Augusta, GA, Operation Back to School Sweep for Child Support started in Richmond County the week of August 29. The sting operation, organized by Lt. Scott Gay, targeted 169 alleged dead beat moms and dads who haven’t been paying child support and putting them in jail.
Channel 12 was along for the ride and caught several of the confrontations on tape. Click to watch the video.

I am a Georgia divorce attorney who deals with many situations of post-divorce conflict due to the spouse’s failure to pay child support or alimony or late payment of child support or alimony. My daughter, Jennifer, and I have just launched a company, SupportCertain, to help resolve these types of conflicts, eliminating “the check is in the mail syndrome.” SupportCertain is an online service where child support can be paid by credit card (recurring payments can be set up) and the support is then deposited by us directly into the recipient’s bank account at no cost to the recipient, keeping the recipient’s bank account information private so that the payor has no access to this information. In addition, upon request we can provide certified account history records to help the party prove payment or nonpayment of the support. This keeps the children out of the conflict and they no longer are the deliverers of the support check at the end of the visitation with the non-custodial parent. The parties can also use our service to reimburse the other for their share of out-of-pocket expenses like child care, tuition, uncovered medical expenses or extra-curricular activities. Judges we have spoken to like having the ability to order the party in contempt to go to the courthouse library and make immediate payment by credit card thereby insuring that the other party gets paid immediately. Our aim is provide parties with the peaceful way to pay. If you would like further information please log on to our website at http://www.supportcertain.com. We have also written an article on the alternative ways to pay and receive child support. Let me know if you are interested in publishing it on your website for the benefit of your readers. I truly believe this will be a great service for recipients of support, as it costs them nothing and will help to get them their support. The payor’s incentive is to use a credit card (even a rewards card and receive the benefits of rewards points or cash back) and not have to bother with writing a check twice a month and put it in the mail. The benefit to the recipient is that their support is directly deposited into their bank account, without having to rush to the bank to make the deposit. We have appeared on talk radio to discuss this new alternative to child support. The response has been favorable. I would love to speak on appear as a q & A on your blog if you are interested. Please feel free to contact me or Jennifer at the number below.
