Who gets the ring?
If an engaged couple breaks up, who gets the ring? The New York Times recently featured an article about how the question about the ring has actually led some couples to court.
In most cases, the court rules that the ring should go back to the buyer. Many feel that an engagement ring is a conditional gift. As long as the marriage takes place, the person who was given the ring can keep it. If the marriage does not occur, the agreement is considered null and void. Courts often also rule that it does not matter who broke off the engagement.

Actually, thats so funny because I recently divorced my hubby and I sold my diamond engagement ring to http://www.idonowidont.com which I found from that New York Times article. I did totally feel better and got some closure out of it. I totally recommend going to that site if you want to mend your broken heart or if you want to pick up something nice. Thanks for the post.
