Rep. Tim Mahoney’s wife files for divorce
With Election Day continuing to creep near, everyone is reading up on the latest politic news and discussing the potential candidates. This is the critical time period where no official – whether up for re-election or running for a new position – wants to deal with bad press.
Unfortunately for Florida Congressman Tim Mahoney, the bad news keeps coming. On Monday, the representative’s wife, Terry, filed for divorce. According to TC Palm, in the divorce papers which she filed, Terry claimed that her husband had sold property that was jointly owned and put the proceeds in an account under his name. She claims that he then used up all of the funds. The congressman has also admitted to several affairs, including one with a former staff member who he had to pay $121,000 to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit that was threatened.
In the petition for dissolution of marriage, Terry says that the marriage has been “irretrievably broken and should be dissolved.”

Amazing what politicians get away with. He settled for $121K and is still in Congress. Of course we don’t know the facts of the case and he may have been completely innocent…who knows…I’m curious as to the reasons for the current divorce but assume the details won’t come out for a while..
