  • First Study on Mail Order Bride Marriage and Divorce Released

In a press release from PRWeb, it was announced that the first wide-scale survey on cross-cultural marriage and divorce has been completed. The most significant finding was that 90 percent of the people who tried cross-cultural marriage said they would again if the marriage failed.

The study indicated most men and women in cross-cultural marriages are educated with at least a Bachelors Degree. The majority of the marriages have incomes of less than $100,000 a year. The researchers gave consideration to the fact that the results included answers from many countries that have different costs of living and income levels. The study also said that the divorce rate of cross-cultural marriages is 40.76 percent, whereas the U.S divorce rate is 48 percent.

This survey started in the summer of 2008. The final number of valid responses was more than 1,700. The report includes demographics, gender and length of courtship before marriage, gender and household income and gender and level of education. Other findings from the survey include length of divorced marriages, primary causes of divorce, age when married and age difference in cross-cultural marriages.
