Michael Jackson – Presley Marriage & Divorce
Since the passing of Michael Jackson on June 25th, there has been a myriad of information being strewn throughout the internet, across media channels and laden in the majority of conversations of Jackson’s past.
Topics ranging from his undeniable brilliance in music with the lasting mark he made on contemporary music to the less than kind allegations and whispers of misconduct which hovered over Michael for a number of years.
In most conversations surrounding Michael Jackson there is bound to be chatter concerning his private life: finances, family, misconduct and marriage.
The latter being of the least popular topics, it was and remains to be the most convoluted.
Both marriages for Michael Jackson ended in divorce with only one of them producing anything other than PR speculations.
Jackson’s most scrutinized marriage, to which both supporters and critics of Michael Jackson stood in amazement and bewilderment as they learned of the union was that of his marriage to Lisa Marie Presley. He later married Debbie Rowe, which also made headlines with the critics.
Jackson and Presley were married in De La Vega, Santa Domingo in 1994 under a shroud of secrecy. Many believe that their marriage was a PR stunt to cast Jackson in a better light after allegations of sexual molestation charges involving a 13-year old boy surfaced.
Whether a public relations maneuver to outshine rising public speculation of sexual misconduct or a less than traditional (Jackson proposed to Presley over the phone) marriage of two relative pop culture icons, the marriage did not last long.
Their marriage ended after a brief two-year stint with both parties citing irreconcilable differences.
The two remained friends following their divorce and remained in contact up until Jackson’s death.
Recently commenting on Michael Jackson’s death, Lisa Marie Presley was gracious in saying:
“I do believe he loved me as much as he could love anyone and I loved him very much … I became very ill and emotionally/spiritually exhausted in my quest to save him from certain self-destructive behavior and from the awful vampires and leeches he would always manage to magnetize around him. I was in over my head while trying … He was an amazing person and I am lucky to have gotten as close to him as I did and to have had the many experiences and years that we had together.”

Michael’s personal life was strange to say the least, but it should not be talked about here or anywhere. His music is what he gave to us, and he was very careful to keep his personal life private. We have no right to dig into his life the way we are.

Long live the King of Pop! MJ’s music is inspiring, and we should take what we can from it. He would have wanted us to carry on with the ideals that he felt were achievable. Let’s do the right things, and change the world!

Sorta interesting how a lot of folks hated MJ and now they all mourn him.

No one had a reason to hate him! People may not have like his music but what could anyone of us actually hate him for? Did we know him on a poersonal level? Did we know for a fact that the accusations that haunted his last years were even true at all? No we don’t and we never will. Those parents were fakes and only out for money. The case that went to trial that mother was being investigated for frauding the government for heavens sakes. People my point is jsut because you didn’t like his music doesn’t mean he was guilty. Its not your call to convict! Remember he was never found guilty.. If he molested those kids then those parents should pay for selling out their kids well being for money. Michael Jackson gave and gave and dumbass people think god put them here to judge and ridicule… Well remember ur day will come! Until then remember don’t throw stones when you live in a glass house. RIP Michael Jackson and may god be with your children.

I agree with “MG”. Second child involved with accusations even said he didn’t do it. First child had his dad’s phone conversation recorded saying how he waneds MJ’s money.

I agree w “MG” and “DB”. I’d like to add that Chandler father, the one that was secretly recorded saying he was out to destruct Michael and in the meantime make money, he mentiones it would be an all win situation for him. He was a sick father whom his ex wife had cut him off and his child seeked a bond of protection w Michael. MJ was naive, maybe, in wanting to provide the child and the mother w security. Chandler was jealous and was out of leverage against the money and power Michael could use to fence him off. Amazing what a blind, outraged “father” can even do to his own child. — In the second case, the Arvizos had tried to tackle Jay Leno – he should have reported them!!! – and they were con artists that had already run-ins w JCPenneys and the LAPD. The mother was later declared schizophrenic… In the meantinme, sick people like the Chandlers and Arvizos, took down a beautiful human being like Michael. Like Jesse Jackson said: We are out of joy, he is out of pain.
Sleep sweetly in the light, dear, beautiful boy…
God called his angel back home…
I pray for your peace, and the wellbeing and health of your Mom and 3 babies…
