  • Undercover Hit Man Offered Pool

When Heidi Friedburg’s ex-boyfriend filed a paternity lawsuit, demanding child custody of her child, she reached out to a former co-worker for help.  Through a text message, Friedburg asked her friend to help her find a hit man to take care of her ex.

Later that day, the co-worker contacted the FBI. An undercover operation was set up, and the co-worker continued the texting conversation with Friedburg over the next couple of days.

Originally Friedburg told her friend that the hit man would be rewarded by knowing he was protecting the child, but the co-worker texted back that that wasn’t enough.

Within two days Friedburg texted back with an offer: a swimming pool and $200. She sent a photograph of the pool describing it as: “its a few years old but its about all I really got worth anything(.) its above ground less than 4 feet deep(.)”

The slaying was to look like an accident. Friedburg suggested her ex be killed in a faked motorcycle wreck, according to a criminal complaint filed.

On Monday, July 6, Friedburg and the co-worker arranged to meet at a Lansing, Ind., hotel to meet the hit man. Friedburg handed over $200 in cash, photographs and the ex’s home address. She then started unloading the swimming pool with the help of her current boyfriend, William C. Alexander.

The two were arrested by the FBI while unloading the pool.
